Here we have the brand new Artwoods. They are based on a retro cycling shoe / trainer in their look and feel. We were aiming for a casual summer shoe, that would work well with jeans, could be worn on the scooter, but also look a little smarter than just a trainer.
To me, these are the perfect “weekend” shoe.
The cord on them is more of a fine needle cord, not jumbo cord like on the Rawlings, Elliot, & Deightons. The leather middle part gives the shoe a slightly “bowling shoe” feel.
The sole is just like the Luca, Fresco & Ricco trainers that we have done before, which is based on a late 60’s early 70’s construction
Sizing
We would suggest that you stick with your regular size, unless you are broad. I normally take an 8 in our shoes, but the front of the shoe, because of construction, doesn’t stretch like our softer leathers, so in these I have gone up a size. Its a little hard to explain here but the Ricco trainers are made on the same ‘Last’ , but the leather on them expands more at the front where I am widest, whereas these will retain their shape more.
